It’s that time of again; time to bid another year adieu. They seem to come faster and faster it seems. Nevertheless, there is much work to do, food to be eaten, champagne to be sipped etc.
So with that said, we would like to present our ‘draft’ Four Course New Year’s Eve menu for 2014. I say ‘draft’ because all our menus are subject to change. Chef and I throw around ideas, and we come up with a collection of dishes that we think would delight diners and provide a wonderful meal to close off the year. However, suppliers, farmers, butchers and fish mongers are not always able to provide us with what we want. Our menu is ingredient driven, which means if we get a shipment of butternut squash or Jerusalem artichokes that just don’t look up to snuff, they don’t end up on your plate. For that reason, there is the possibility that some of these menu items may change slightly on the day of our dinner. Our apologies if this happens, but our exacting standards will not allow us to serve something that we think is sub par. Given the particular finickiness of fish, we are waiting till the last minute to nail down our fish plate – it will be fantastic either way. Trust me.
